  • What if I've never participated in a triathlon before?

Welcome! That’s the magic of this event! We encourage everyone (new to tri or experienced) to come out and experience the feel-good, inclusive nature of this event. Everyone deserves an opportunity to step out of their comfort zone, challenge themselves, and feel proud. We will have opportunities leading up to race day to ask us questions, see the race space, and get familiar so that come race day you’ll feel confident and prepared.

  • Do I have to live in the County to register?

No you don’t have to live in Prince Edward County. While we are a community-focused event and encourage youth in the Quinte region to participate, this event is open to anyone age 3-17.

  • Is your event suitable for younger kids?

YES! Our event is very family friendly and we strive to make it as enjoyable as possible for our smallest competitors. The 3-5 year olds are accompanied by a volunteer at each stage of the event.

We will also have the route maps posted on our website soon so you can even walk or bike (or both) your age groups route just to get extra familiar! If there are certain things you need to feel more confident in signing up for your first race or triathlon our mailbox is always open! • Will there be training sessions?

One of the pillars of County Kids of Steel is to foster lifelong wellness habits in a supportive and inclusive environment. Training for race day is all part of building that relationship. While we don’t currently offer any formal in-person training we are working hard on being able to provide training and nutrition tips adaptable to each age group, which will be accessible on our website. In addition, we are also working on a few other pre-race opportunities. Check back regularly for updates!
